Seastalker was Infocom's 12th game (and the first to be officialy aimed at
the beginner adventurer). It was written by Stu Galley (the author of The
Witness), and Jim Lawrence.
You are the captain of the two-man submarine "Scimitar" (which you designed
yourself). At the beginning of the game you are notified that the Aquadome is
under attack by a sea monster. Can you save it? (and find who sabotages the
Aquadome from the inside?). Take your sub to the Aquadome and work with its
personnel to resolve the situation!
Difficulty level: INTRODUCTORY
Some special commands you should know:
SET THROTTLE TO SLOW (or MEDIUM or FAST) - changes the subs' speed
DIVE TO 5 METERS (or 10 or 15 or 20 etc.) - in increments of five meters.
SURFACE - your sub surfaces.
Other Commands:
ADJUST EMPTY LISTEN SHOW
AIM ENTER LOOK STOP
ANSWER EXAMINE MOVE SURFACE
ARREST EXIT OPEN TAKE
ASK FILL POINT TELL
ATTACK FIND PULL TEST
BRING FIX PUMP THANK
CLIMB FOLLOW PUT TIE
CLOSE GIVE RAISE TURN
CUT KICK READ UNLOCK

DOCK KNOCK SET WALK

In this one the loading message "Please wait approximately 1.5 minutes..." was
replaced by "Loading game ...", a sign that something has changed...
Indeed, the cursor disappeared! (Previously you could see the familiar
flashing C64 cursor at the prompt, but now no cursor could be seen anywhere!).
Finally, you couldn't use the cursor keys any more (previously you could move
around the screen with the cursor keys and alter whatever you feeled like!),
but you still could use the DEL key to erase all previous text lines...
EMULATOR NOTE: It is not recommended to play any Infocom game on CCS64, since
there is no way to turn off its 1541 emulation and the games load too slow.
On C64S, Vice, and PC64, though, any Infocom game will load instantly and you
will notice no delay for loading new text while playing, making the gameplay
more enjoyable!
Well, that's all!
Best Regards
Dimitris
