YOUR MISSION
As a member of S.O.C. (Special Operatings Corps), you´ve gotten
used to doing the impossible...but this may go beyond even your
abilities.Locked in a safe at enemy HQ is information so vital
that the fate of the free world depends on its retrieval. Only
you have the skills to cross the scorching desert and treacherous
jungle to achieve your objective. Everything depends on how well
you drive, fly, hike, climb, and above all, fight your way through
the enemy hordes into the very heart of the enemy stronghold.
HOW TO PLAY
The Game consists of seven sections, each of which must be
completed in order to reach the secret enemy HQ and the plans
hidden within it.
STAGE 1
You must reach the enemy helicopter base in your missile-equipped
jeep. Transport trucks will try to block your path and helicopter
gunships will try to destroy you. Use your ground and air missiles
to destroy them first. If you come to destroyed sections of the
bridge, use turbo boost to leap the gap. If you reach the base,
you must steal a helicopter to proceed into the next stage.
STAGE 2,3,4
All three of these stages are completed using the helicopter.
Avoid fighter pianes and missile silos (Stage 2), submarines
(Stage 3), and armed lookout posts (Stage 4).
TIP: Land whenever you see the helicopter refueling stations. Run
out of fuel, and spend the rest, of your (short) life wandering
around enemy territory. A good, centered landing gains you extra
points.
When you land at the final jungle helipad, you will be given a
code number to enter the barraks. At this point, switch off the
computer, turn over Army Moves disk and load side 2 (follow the
same procedure you used to load side 1) and enter the code you
were given to enter Stage 5.
Stage 5
Now you are on foot, and the goinggets tough you will need to
negotiate the swamps and find the enemy barraks.
Avoid quicksand by leaping from island to island. Not only must
you fend off enemy soldiers (you can spot their eyes at night) but
also low-flying toucans with razorsharp beaks.
Stage 6
You´ve found the barraks, but how are you going to pass the watch-
towers? The enemy steps up his defense this close to the HQ, so
have your hand grenades ready.
TIP: Clear the way with hand grenades so you can get your bearings
and then keep your head down and go!
Stage 7
You can be proud to have come this far, but unless you can get to
the plans, it will all have been for nothing. Work your way
through the HQ until you find the bunker and the safe where the
plans are hidden.
TIP: Be careful of the doors. Hide behind them to keep them from
being opened. The enemy can´t see you when you are on the stairs,
so be sure the coast is clear before you step off them. Finally,
remember that grenades bounce off walls....and they can´t tell a
friend from an enemy.
